Bobbie Barna, Director, Owner, and Instructor of Bobbie Barna's Dance Studio, Ltd. began her dancing career when only four years of age. She trained under the tuteledge of Dave Morganstern of Morganstern Dance Studio, becoming both an instructor and a professional dancer. After graduating from Hiram College with a degree in Business Management, there were no dance degree programs at that time, Bobbie started a family and continued to give dance lessons throughout the Greater Cleveland Area. Realizing the popularity of dance instruction and the many miles she was driving to give lessons, Bobbie decided to open Bobbie Barna's Dance Studio, Ltd. in a very small studio in Solon in 1984. Her experience, dancing skills, and business acumen have propelled her studio through over two decades of growth and into the hearts of dancers and dance aficionados alike. We toured Bobbie's new facility recently, and listened as she provided this glimpse into the world of performing arts;

Bobbie Barna's Dance Studio, Ltd. offers a full line of private and semi-private dance instruction encompassing ballet, jazz, tap, point, ballroom, modern, hip-hop, belly dancing, and exercise techniques. We welcome both children and adults, from beginners to professionals. Our instructors are all professionally trained and regularly attend seminars and workshops to remain current with the ever-changing world of dance. Our lessons are designed for individuals wanting to dance for recreation only, as well as those aspiring to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Our new state-of-the-art, 3,300 square foot facility includes two top-of-the-line maple floored dance room, in addition to a practice room with a special "stage step" dance floor. Each room is fitted with completely mirrored walls and double-level wood barres designed specifically to address the dancers' needs. Our new accommodations also include two dressing areas, a relaxed waiting area, and a Dance Boutique featuring a wide range products to fill all of your dance-wear requirements.

Dance classes at Bobbie Barna's Dance Studio, Ltd. usually range between 10 to 14 students per class, the optimal size to ensure your student receives the attention they need to learn and grow. Each student's level is determined according to their ability, and new students with prior dance experience are evaluated to determine appropriate level. All of our classes are constantly progressing, challenging individual students to improve their skills and expertise. Master Classes taught by our studio instructors and visiting instructors focus on different techniques and styles to help enhance students' abilities and further aid in strengthening dance awareness.

My own experience, from my days with the Hal Lynn Agency when I'd travel throughout Northeastern United States, to my tenure as one of the Teddy Bear Cavaliers, has given me a professional background that I strive to pass along to my students. Several students have gone on to pursue dance degrees in college, and one of my students is currently touring with West Side Story in Europe. Over the years I've had the opportunity to see quite a few of my students excel, and today I find myself teaching the children of many of my former students.
